A PICTURE PAINTS A THOUSAND WORDS

from PASTOR TIM JUPP

"What a wonderful expression! To think that we, poor creatures that we are, should be thus joined to Christ by a marriage union, nay, by a vital union,-is indeed amazing. Oh, the depths of the love of Christ, that such an expression as this should be possible!  There is a mystery that He should leave His Father and quit the home above and become one flesh with His elect, going with them and for their sakes, through poverty and pain, shame and death. This is a marvel and a mystery indeed! The Spirit of God follows us into our homes and teaches us how to live for the glory of God! May He help us to do so for Christ’s sake, amen. "C.H. Spurgeon. When we realize the relationship we call marriage is heavenly in a very real sense, everything about what we thought we knew changes. Paul is not using the relationship of Jesus and the church to illustrate how to live together. Quite the opposite. He is audaciously declaring that your marriage ought to illustrate that relationship. This changes everything! We are to reflect divine love and respect for the whole world to see Jesus and His Bride. Indeed, A Picture Paints a Thousand Words!"There are a lot of ways to display God’s love but none more prominent than the cross of Christ. All other beams of heavenly benevolence are secondary to Calvary. It is there that Christ married infinite love of God with infinite love for helpless people. A perfect, zealous love of God’s glory was showcased in the willingness to take the place as the substitionary lamb of God. When Christ became sin for us, he raised love to the heights!  Every other reflection of love must salute this great gospel flag."                                            Erik Raymond, Gospel CoalitionEphesians 5:22-33Songs: Holy, Wedding Day, City Harmonic, I Stand Amazed, Norton Hall Band, More Like Jesus, Passion
