"I was born in a small town And I live in a small town Probably die in a small town Oh, those small communities..." (J. Mellencamp) Here in Arcata, this is definitely our song! Do you like how small, remote, and out-of-the-way we are? As a teenager, I hated it and couldn't wait to get out! These days, I'm finding some hidden treasure in this place. And we're in good company; Jesus was from a small town, too. As we continue looking at His ROOTS this month - His family legacy - we find He's famous for putting small places on the map - just ask Bethlehem's Chamber of Commerce! When we feel insignifcant, overlooked, or forgotten about, we can know that's exactly where Jesus shows up in the most profound ways. That's His specialty.
