A Public Apology to My Former High School Student | I Didn't Understand Education

We have been ingrained to think that schooling is the way kids are educated; therefore, students who do poorly in school are "not smart" where the good students are. My passion is to overturn that thinking and help parents realize there are many forms of intelligence and genius, and it doesn't always look like making good grades in a school setting. This letter to my former student discusses some ways in which schooling and education are different. It is such a freeing concept, especially since we homeschoolers tend to hold on to the same thoughts about education, and so hurt our children with that misunderstanding.
