A “Redmond Farrar” Edition of RRR # 1,272 Dec. 1, 2024

from Rapidly Rotating Records · host Glenn Robison

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. Do you know who this fellow is? He’s composer Redmond Farrar and he’s getting not one, not two, but the first three segments of the show for his birthday tribute. I was contacted a couple of years ago by Farrar’s grandson, John Mahaffie who has shared some information about his grandfather which is not available online. In addition all of the records I’ll be playing are being heard on the show for the first time, and some of them are even new to John! We’ll also be celebrating the birthdays of Bobby Heath and Frank Melrose. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience. THANKS FOR LISTENING! ENJOY THE SHOW!
