“A Rich Toolbox of Approaches”: Steiner education and the roots of creativity.
from Steiner Voices XYZ · host Steiner Education Australia
Dr Jonathan Spreer is Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of Sydney. He was entirely educated at a Steiner school, the Uhlandshohe Waldorf School in Stuttgart, Germany, which is the very first Steiner school in the world founded by Rudolf Steiner himself and still going strong 100 years later. Jonathan tells his story and reflects on some of the things from his school education that have shaped him as a person and a professional: wood crafts, numbers, music, the arts, all of which gave him “a rich toolbox of approaches” to support his creativity as a mathematician.
