Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s. Do you know who this fellow is? His name is Ross Turner. He’s not a composer, lyricist or instrumentalist, so you may wonder why his photograph is featured on this week’s playlist. Well, Ross was my boss (he hated the term!) for the 25 years I worked at Guided Discoveries until my retirement a few years ago. Ross passed away unexpectedly on October 9 and as my feeble attempt at a tribute and message to the family, the final segment of this week’s show is dedicated to him.
