A safety pin

from Daily Picture · host Stephanie Hawkins

Today I saw a safety pin which made me think of a recent incident at school whereby a little girl had had no clue how to use one until I had shown her. This is a good reminder that we are all learners in one way or another and that God is very patient with all of us, however basic our learning. We are often our harshest critics. Also, as is often cited, we could be given 9 compliments and only 1 negative criticism and yet we are more likely to focus on the latter. The devil loves to bring guilt and shame into our thinking too. Let us sweep all this away and dwell on God's Word which tells us we are forgiven and that God will patiently and slowly change us into His image, if we want Him to and will let Him. All energy is from our Creator and, as such He gives us our energy. Wrong thinking, and not just wrong doing, saps us of energy. In Isaiah 40:31 we read, "they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength ..." As with the child learning to use a safety pin for the first time, we are indeed safe in God's Love. Psalm 103:12 "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgression* from us". *sin
