A save-the-date announcement
from Julie Gammack's Iowa Potluck · host Julie Gammack
Save the date! As a thank-you to our paid subscribers and donors, The Iowa Writers’ Collaborative and Iowa Capital Dispatch team will host a holiday party from 5-8 p.m. in the spacious lobby of the Tom and Ruth Harkin Institute, 2800 University Avenue, Des Moines—appetizers by the Drake Catering department. The date is December 13. It’s a state-of-the-art facility, and on December 13th, it will become a great place for us to gather, meet your favorite writers, and meet the readers who make it possible for us to do what we do. All paid subscribers as of December 10 are invited to attend. Bring a guest for a small donation. We had a great event last year, and our readers and writers had fun meeting one another. Everyone had a good time. I appreciate your support! If you are not a paid subscriber but would like to be (thank you!), please sign up now:Then, RSVP here: IWC Holiday Party RSVP Julie Gammack’s Potluck PodcastThis podcast was recorded on October 7. It was an ‘open show,’ meaning there was no featured guest, but those on the call guided the discussion. We talked about Israel, Gaza, the search for a new Des Moines Police Chief, and Iowa Boy Chuck Offenburger sang the Vanderbilt school song. Listen. It’s quite something, actually.
