A Scribe and a Priest
from Pod Pastor Mike Hosted by Pastor Mike
This episode examines Ezra chapter 7 as a model for Christian spiritual maturity and leadership. Through the life of Ezra, a priest and scribe of distinguished priestly lineage tracing back to Aaron, the sermon explores how God's sovereign hand works behind the scenes to accomplish His purposes for His people. Ezra's three-part commitment to studying, obeying, and teaching God's Word provides a timeless blueprint for believers today. The episode also highlights how God can use unlikely sources, including pagan rulers, to advance His plans, and challenges Christians to engage faithfully in civic and public life without compromising their faith. Just as Ezra received extraordinary favor from King Artaxerxes, believers today can trust that God ordains not only the outcomes of their circumstances but also the means by which those outcomes come to pass.
