A Selfish Kind of Love

We Want To Hear From YOU!How many of you, know what it is like to get caught up in an unsavory relationship because the foundation of that relationship was built on a foundation of how someone made you feel and how you made them feel rather than who they were and who you are at your core. This is an example of a relationship based on superficial mutual selfishness.The thing about the human species is that we are creatures of habit, which is why we have all been guilty of professing our belief and love in God the same way, based on how God makes us feel and what He has done for us rather than who He is at His core.Thank God, He doesn’t define His love for us based on how we make Him feel or how often we make Him smile or feel good enough to brag about us.Think about this for a moment God has viewed the videotape of all our lives, He know every decision we will make in life, every mistake, every time we will be presented with the opportunity to present the Gospel and don’t and with all that in-depth information He knows about us, He still loves us.  See God’s love for us is unconditional. God is selfless with His love.  Can we be honest for a moment, if God were to base His love for us solely on what we do for Him, in His name, imagine how shattered His love for us would be.True love has no contingencies.  1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Now I am not saying nor is the scripture indicating that true love should be acceptant of disrespect, verbal or physical abuse, violations of vows, or anything that degrades or compromises one’s integrity or God-ordained purpose.Romans 12:9-10 “Love must be sincere.
