A Shoot From The Stump

If you’ve ever had a tree removed on your property you’ll know how annoying it can be to get rid of the stump. And there are a lot of solutions suggested in how you can get rid of them. In Isaiah’s day, the nation had been reduced to what could only be described a stump. One corrupt and idolatrous king after another had led the people astray and driven it into the dirt. But as Isaiah points out, instead of focusing on stump removal, God had something else in mind.
