A Song To C
from Emerald Park · host Emerald Park
A Song To C began as a birthday gift — a deeply personal song written for my wife. When Daniel from Danish Daycare and I performed it live at her birthday celebration, the response was immediate and overwhelming. It quickly became clear that the song deserved a life beyond that moment. Musically, A Song To C naturally found its home in Emerald Park’s sonic universe and evolved into a collaboration with Danish Daycare. I sent the song idea to Daniel along with a few reference points — Kent and Marie Key — and he instantly understood the emotional direction. He started by shaping the drums and bass synth, laying the foundation for the track’s restrained pulse. I then added vocals and acoustic guitars, letting intimacy and melody lead the way. The song was further elevated by Linus Lindvall, whose expressive electric guitar lines add texture and lift, giving the track its subtle emotional peaks. As always with Emerald Park, Nordic melancholy meets something quietly life-affirming. The result is a wistful yet hopeful synth-pop song — reflective, warm, and emotionally direct. Today, Emerald Park exists as a one-man project where I, Tobias Borelius, write and record songs in collaboration with carefully chosen creative partners. A Song To C is a testament to that approach: personal storytelling, collaborative spirit, and a sound rooted in Scandinavian pop tradition with a modern, heartfelt touch.
