A Steiner School and a Soccer Team”: Reflections on a Class Teacher Cycle

To agree to accompany her husband’s job move to a city in Australia, Katherine Arconati needed to find both a Steiner school for her children, and a high enough level soccer team for herself. She found both, and putting her Californian training as a Steiner teacher to good use, she recently completed a cycle of eight years as a primary Class Teacher. In this episode she reflects on what the highlights have been for her in this educational journey that is unique to Steiner schools. She shares her professional joy in accompanying children as they grow through a critical phase in their learning development, her love of Mathematics and Geometry, and a student who could recite Pi to 400 decimal places!
