A Story of Judgment on Religion

from Christ Community Church of Pembroke Pines · host Christ Community Church

The Servant of God “A Story of Judgment on Religion” Ma. 12:1-12 Past (vv.1-5) 2 Pet. 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. How about you? If you haven’t come to Christ yet, how many chances do you think you’ll get? You know how many you deserve? NONE. Matt. 23:29-33  29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, 30 saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 Thus you witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. 33 You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell? Present (vv.6-8) Future (vv.9-12) Isa. 65:15 You shall leave your name to my chosen for a curse, and the Lord God will put you to death, but his servants he will call by another name, Ro. 9:30b-33 30 What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith; 31 but that Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. 32 Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, 33 as it is written, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” Matt. 7:24, 26-27 24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock… 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
