A Sweet Remembrance /// Part 2 /// E014

from More In Common · host More In Common Podcast

Part 2 - A Sweet Remembrance. School to Prison Pipeline: The disproportionate tendency of minors and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds to become incarcerated, because of increasingly harsh school and municipal policies. In an uncommon twist to our typical follow-ups, today we continue "A Sweet Remembrance" with Lloyd Wilkey.  We do add a follow-up to the conversation in the spirit of our evolution but do carry the episode concluding our discussion with Lloyd. Part 2 takes us deeper into Lloyds work to help eliminate the school to prison pipeline through his boxing program @LARiotboxing.  We explore different prison programs that do the opposite of rehabilitation despite desired good intent. We close up our time with Lloyd and greatly appreciate his work in the community, his willingness to share his story and his life journey to fight the injustices in the world while promoting equality.  He lives the mission many talk about and he is someone to be admired and heard.   Music credits: Main Theme:  I dunno by grapes (c) copyright 2008 Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution (3.0) license.http://dig.ccmixter.org/files/grapes/16626 Ft: J Lang, Morusque
