“You are the Man!”Dedicated to Mr. R …& All Faithful Gospel MinistersBy John FrahmDear Minister, today you stand trial.As Nathan declared his verdict to David,Christ has firmly declared His verdict to you, “You are the man!’ (2nd Sam. 12)Long ago, you were the man thrown into Joseph’s pit left to die, (Gen. 37)Firmly trapped, confused, and tormented because of Satan’s deadly lies. (1st Peter 5)But God who is rich in mercy, and possess unspeakable power, (Psalm 77)Gently raised you up as He once did for His preacher, Jeremiah. (Jeremiah 38)Oh, the mystery and wonder of rescuing such a creature as this … (Acts 9)For what divine purpose can this be? (Acts 9)Unknown to God’s enemies, pour souls everywhere cry out for a faithful shepherd. (Psalms 12)Christ hears the cries of His people, and declares, “You are the man.” (Exodus 3, Isaiah 52)And now God has healed & humbled you by His mighty right hand, (Isaiah 66)Sitting at His feet you gladly learn his ways, righteous paths, & truths for He is the God of your salvation. (Psalms 25)A new creation you are, with new affections, and a new mission to rescue the sick, injured & dying. (John 3, Proverbs 24, Ezekiel 34 & 36)And the forces of hell tremble as Christ declares, “You are my ambassador to arouse the saints & awaken sinners!” (2nd Cor. 5)You joined the Lord’s Gospel army, turning the world’s authority upside down, by declaring Christ & Him crucified, (1st Cor. 2)Beseeching the church to awaken from her slumber, (Rev. 3 & 4)Pleading with those perishing to end their rebellion against a Messiah who hung on a tree for all who believe, (1st Peter 1)Thus, crushing Satan under your feet as he howls in defeat. (Romans 16)“You are the man” who God speaks through to teach His people how to walk in spirit, truth, & love. (John 4, 2nd John 4)“You are the man” teaching the four cups of Sanctification, Deliverance, Redemption, & Hope in Christ Jesus! (Exodus 6)“You are the man” exhorting Christians to stop pretending like Judas and worship God in true adoration like Mary. (Mark 14)“You are the man” preaching that Christians are dead to the law so that they might live to God. (Gal. 2)“You are the man” teaching the glorious doctrines of the Christian faith:The Character & Nature of God, Creation, Man’s True Fallen State, The Gospel, The Cross, Atonement, Justification by Faith, New Birth, Union with Christ, Faith, Christian Life, Assurance, Revival, Sanctification, Glorification, Christ’s 2nd Coming, & Heaven are the primary tools of your trade. (The Bible)Afterall, you can do nothing else but preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, (1st Corn. 9:16)Because “You are the man” Christ called to strengthen weak hands & make firm feeble knees, (Isaiah 35, Hebrews 12)to bring His people safely home. (1st Peter 3; Rev. 21, 22)Dear Minister, the world finds you, and all like you, guilty of treason and sedition (Acts 4)for spreading the Gospel of God, distributing illegal writings you call divine & true, and continually doing good to all. (Romans, Gal 6)But the Lord of Glory in His righteousness’ holds a different view for He judges the heart. (1st Sam. 16)He welcomes you as a faithful servant, husband, father & friend in His Celestial City (Matt 25)where you will be with Christ, and like Him, forever & ever. (1st Peter 3, 1st John 3)Amen
