A Tale of Two Markets

Subject: Friday Morning Market Outlook - June 14, 2024 Good morning, Welcome to today's Market Outlook. Unfortunately, we are still witnessing a Tale of Two Markets. A handful of large-cap tech stocks that are heavily weighted in the S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 are dominating the headlines, while the rest of the market remains on shaky ground. Bond yields fell sharply again yesterday, but even this couldn't inspire the broader market. The Dow and the TSX are still under sell signals. In the not-so-distant future, this divergence between a few stocks and the rest of the market will likely be resolved. The first indication of this resolution will be a new buy signal in the VIX. Today, we are looking for a close above 13.42 on the VIX to trigger a new daily buy signal. We might actually see this, as stock index futures are trading down across the board in the premarket on this Friday morning. Enjoy today's video, and have a great weekend.
