A Thankful Christmas

In a year when there are wars and an ongoing pandemic, some are still able to find joy and hope amid the tribulations. Gratitude is a virtue, like that one leper who came back to thank Jesus after being healed. Looking at the Holy Family, their lives weren't smooth and perfect, yet they persevered to obey the word of God, binding together when problems arise. Like them, we need to see life through the lens of faith -- with a grateful heart and a sense of gratitude and empathy that extends to others. That is why we celebrate Christmas, to give light and hope to a world in chaos. It’s not joyful people who are thankful. It’s thankful people who are joyful.
