A Thanksgiving From The Heart

from Ten Thousand Worlds · host Luis Urrego

On this episode we talk about the importance of us to be thankful from the heart. We take a look at the story found in Luke 17:11-19 about the ten lepers and why one of the lepers came back to Jesus to thank him for his healing. We look in depth into this account and how we as believers today can apply what this thankful leper did to our lives no matter what our circumstances are at the moment. Luke 17:11-19 11And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.  12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:  13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.  14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.  15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,  16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.  17And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?  18There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.  19And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. I Thessalonians 5:16-18 16Rejoice evermore.  17Pray without ceasing.  18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Understanding the ten commandments can be a good place to reflect on, as they were one of Israel's first introductions to learning how to relate to God and live in His way. Jesus also references the commandments in his sermon on the mount saying, “...whoever does them [the commandments] will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:19) Looking forward to exploring these with you!
