A Thrill of Hope — 12.16.18 Sermon

Continuing the Christmas series A Thrill of Hope , this message turns to the Magi and the three ways people still respond to Jesus. Danny Cox draws them from Matthew 2: Herod's hostility, the indifference of a Jerusalem that had waited centuries yet didn't notice, and the worship of scholars who traveled months to kneel before a toddler. Their gifts are read for their meaning—gold for a king, frankincense for a priest, myrrh for one who would die. The single point the message asks listeners to keep is the promise of Christmas itself: if you seek Jesus, you will find him. The challenge lands on the indifferent—including believers—to move from indifference to worship in marriage, finances, parenting, and the rest of life.
