In this episode of Flow Working The Entrepreneur's Podcast, I sat down with my guest Michael Woeckener to chat about the art of writing content. Even today when videos are king, being able to write effective emails, blogs, and social media posts help you stand out from the crowd. As a technical writer, Michael knows the importance of being concise with words. He has turned his passion for writing into a business where he now helps other entrepreneurs get creative and express themselves in writing. One big tip he gave during our chat was that social media posts have their own set of "rules" to keep in mind when writing. Michael explained, "it is a social thing. And that's one thing you have to keep in mind. The litmus, that I learned that serves really well in social media posts is you never make your sentence any longer than the width of the social media page. So you don't want to go text wrap on a foot, like on a Facebook post. That type of thing. LinkedIn is a little bit different. You can go a little bit longer on that. But you want to take the person on a verbal journey. Much like, you know, you take people on a journey through your videos that you do talk about, here's where here's what why we're here. This is what we're going to do. And it's the same type of thing only in social media posts." Knowing the formula to write successful posts and other content is a big part of your brand.
