What should have been a week of celebration has some Bay Area superintendents taking a hard look at campus safety. Proton therapy is an increasingly popular weapon against cancer, but the technology is incredibly expensive and typically requires a facility the size of a football field. But KCBS’s Shannon Golden reports, Stanford Medicine just unveiled a new design that can fit in one room. Some families in the East Bay don’t have the means to have a bed for their kids at home. KCBS' Mike DeWald reports from East Oakland, a volunteer driven effort aims to provide a comfortable night’s sleep.
