listening to Grand Podcast. If that's the case, call me. I'm up too. No, seriously.
It's Matt. I'm back with my co-host, Lisa. Ladies, lady. Tell them what's good.
I'm so used to saying ladies, but Jules is doing her mama thing tonight. I know. I'm going to turn the midst of raising the friend. We need people who are raising good kids, Lord knows.
If you're one of them, thank you. Yeah. No, seriously. Jules is doing her mom thing and we are back with another...
What the hell happened here? WTH3. And I got an interesting case for you. Oh man.
They all are. It's been a long day. We've already talked a lot about some weird shit today, so why not? Go ahead.
Fire off. All right. And like Matt said, I know a lot of our cases stem from Florida, but we found out if you listened to our previous WTH episode, that Florida gives a lot of details about petty crimes that other places do not have to. So that seems to be the reason we always get wild and crazy stories out of Florida, but Lord, we are thinking about you all right now.
So keep that in mind. Everybody donate to Hurricane Relief. Make sure... Yeah.
Well, while we're on the weather, y'all got... We really hope everybody's safe down there. Evacuate if you hear this and if it's one of those things where you're in a safe zone, however you can. I mean, fuck the government.
Put it that way. They're not going to help us. Yeah, I'm going to say it. I shouldn't.
But after Hurricane Helene, everything is shot. Everybody's worried about this down the election. Take care of people, man. We're here to tell you that.
Fuck the government. Take care of your neighbors and people. We need it. Thank you.
That's my TED talk for today. Lisa, if you would carry on with the WTH3, already scheduled. All right. So this happened in 2019, Matt.
Let's talk about it. Let's talk about it. Now, it starts off with a bang. Police say a $5,000 tip, a woman left on a $55 cafe, though, wasn't a case of generosity or charity.
This woman is accused of using her boyfriend's credit card to leave the tip as revenge, and she's charged with theft in the incident. Clearwater Police say Serena Wolf was upset her boyfriend would buy her a plane ticket home to Buffalo, New York. Our report says that the boyfriend placed a hold on his credit card during the argument, but later lifted it. Investigators say Wolf left the tip at a restaurant in Clearwater's tourist district last week in 2000.
So left investigators say Wolf left the tip at a restaurant in Clearwater's tourist district. The boyfriend notified his credit card company Monday calling in a fraudulent charge, and Wolf was arrested on a felony grant theft charge. Isn't that bananas? What would you do Matt if someone's your ex-girlfriend or your girlfriend stole your credit?
What a Caitlin stole your credit card has been $5,000 on a tip. Well, let me think, please. I don't think I'd react well. I don't think I'd do anything crazy, but I don't think I'd react well.
I'd like an explanation for how big this tip was and for why. I mean, damn how good was the service and let me get some of that. I'll have what she's having. We're leaving $5,000 tips out here.
I'd rather up with that. But yeah, I'd be pissed straight up. I mean, that's one of those things where, you know, it's like, again, we talked about this on the previous WTH3, where you got to use your mind. You got to think, man.
Think this one through. Don't do that. Don't steal it. I think she did think it through because she's pissed at him.
Yeah, but still, that's so easy to prove. It's fraud. It's like one of those things where you're like, yeah, okay, but I didn't approve this charge. That's not going to work.
And you hope insurance covered it or he got his money back. Well, I mean, if she had access to his card, who's like, it was valid and making purchase. I wonder how that works. Is there something?
You'd have to file a client. That's the thing. It's like you'd have to probably file a fraud claim and say, hey, even though, yeah, she's on this card. I did not approve this transaction or we broke up.
Here's evidence of that. I don't know. I'm not sure how they would would investigate that. But that would definitely be one of those things where I'd be like, oh, what did you think you were doing here?
I didn't think you would notice. I find it interesting. She got arrested for it. I mean, it's bad.
That's what I'm saying. If you don't approve the transaction, that's considered fraud. That's that. You can't just do that.
And I think, so to answer your question, I would, if I were the guy, just like a legal process play out, dude, you're probably going to get that money back. It's probably going to be remunerated to you at some point because that's that's that's that's that's. But I think she should have to pay that money to the waitress or weter or stay. I agree.
I don't think they don't deserve it. 100%. 100%. You know what?
You thought you made someone's day there and then you turned out to be a little bit more than that. You're just doing a real bad thing. Something not cool. Yeah, imagine thinking you've been blessed and it turns out to me this giant fraud scheme.
No. I'd be very best, especially like five grand, somebody's working a hard job doing that every day. You're like, oh shit. This is the win of the century right here.
Yeah, that's cheating. And I'm sure the people were like, oh my God, I've been blessed. This is like a gift from above. Like, wow, what an amazing person.
Somebody who just was a good kind person. So it's like, I wonder, yeah, I wonder what that was about. Yeah. I figure that was a pretty short one.
I have another one really quick to bring up here because I think this one's really interesting is when we can just make this a two for one. Matt, I am so tired today. I'm so sorry. I cannot focus to save my life at the moment.
Oh, honestly, they apologize to me for that. That's a normal day. But you know what I've been doing recently, honestly, when I'm tired or when I just get a little out of focus, I've been walking over and grabbing a magic mind out of the bridge. You know, I love magic minds.
They are. It's all natural. So I just feel better about that. I don't drink coffee.
You know, so if I'm personally, like my experience with them, it's been like, it's a little bit sharper focus. It's a little bit more of a wake up call. If I drink one, I almost feel like I'm kind of motivated. Like I kind of do something with this energy, right?
Like I was tired. I'm getting a little like boost of energy. I'm going to give myself a little magic mind. Give myself an endorsement of my own health is really how I look at it.
So like I need to try them because I've been drink. I only drink caffeine when I'm at work because I need it to get through my life or I'll die. And it kills me. Like right now, like my heart feels like it's going to jump out of my chest.
You get any of that with the magic mind? No, not at all. Honestly, I mean, I usually drink. If anything, like an energy drink, not like a caffeine.
I know you're more of a coffee person, but it's like for me, I used to get the same thing like that hard fluttering jittery kind of like, oh my God, I'm like buzzing almost. None of that with magic minds more like just a sharp sharpening, you know, like if anything, I'm looking at myself and saying, okay, I'm going to get up and do this. I'm off the couch. I'm getting off my computer, finishing up a call.
So what am I doing now to lock in? That's been my experience with it. It's been, it's been, it's been, it's been, it's been, it's been, it's been kind of like as a result of telling myself, hey, I'm going to take a shot of health and shot of energy. I should really put some time and energy into what I was going to do to make myself better today.
So it's been great. I'm really enjoying it. I'll pick you up some because I only have a couple of miles left. But we have our code obviously.
So I'll go on and post the code. I'm 20. We'll hit the link in the bio. Everybody knows that.
Yeah, absolutely. I need to try because I'm going to die at work. I've been drinking Celsius. Celsius is, yeah, I've been drinking too.
Yeah, they're better, I think than the Red Bulls and monsters, but not, you know, ideally like I'm, I'm trying to be as healthy as possible at this point. I shouldn't be drinking those as a substitute for coffee because it's really not much better. Also, too, like I've seen you drinking the magic mines on the show before because while the viewers can't see us, we can see each other because we're doing this good zoom. And I like that they're tiny because you get a whole lot of benefit.
It seems from such a smaller thing. We're like, it takes me because I'm sensitive to caffeine. It takes me a whole day to drink Celsius, which I know is crazy because people who do like caffeine, be lugging them down like they're not in like their water. But I do kind of like that you don't have to like fill your belly with all this stuff.
It's just a tiny little guy. And you can drink it and one go and take shots. You can take magic mines. A.D.
That's really awesome. There's Logan. Magic mine picked that up. Yeah, honestly check us out guys.
We're a cross mark in there. I don't know. Please pick up more and send some of my way because I got help me. I'm like, my eyes are not even open right now.
Yes, I will grab two for both of us and we'll have a sperm supply for a while. They should keep in, you know, like I said, in just a five, 20 in a box, I think so. So anyways, back to what we were saying. Let's get this WH3 part two underway here.
I'm sorry. All right, Matt, you're next to talk to me one of those magic masks. I am getting sleepy. Me too, dude.
I'm eating anything and I am terrible at life. My existence is basically that as a parasite, but fire away at this point. I'm here so I don't get fined. I'm here for the moment.
Well, Matt, this happened in 2013, which I think is just a fun year to talk about. That was a great year. Fun times. Yeah, so this happened actually in West Virginia.
So kind of close by, I suppose. I'll be. What's up, man? Right down south of us.
We love our people. So a thief has been caught on a security camera stuffing a live three month old alligator under a shirt and walking out of a West Virginia pet shop. First notice the foot long reptile was missing when he went to feed it. That is that week.
That is awesome. When he checked the store surveillance video when after he couldn't find this alligator anywhere in its sink, he saw one suspect distract the sales associate. This was a two person operation. Well, another man grabbed the alligator and put it under his shirt.
Oh my God. So villains of this now the shop owners that he was shocked by the theft and added. I can imagine the boy probably got bit on the way out. Beat was right.
That was believed to be a regular customer at the Beckley pet store who already owns an alligator. And from the surveillance footage, it appears as if one man distracted a woman who was working in the shop by allegedly saying he'd come in for food. And a second man was wearing a green shirt was then spotted on camera slipping the alligator, which is worth about three thousand three hundred dollars under his shirt. This all happened around eight thirty PM.
So that night the store workers thought the alligator was hiding under rocks and its sink and did not discover was missing into feeding time the next day. They looked everywhere and they were nowhere to be found in their tank. And the juvenile reptile Matt get this can grow up to 16 feet in length. I know you it's worth three hundred dollars.
So when John and I were in Myrtle, we just went to this really cool alligator adventure. It was called and they have literally hundreds of alligators from all different times. This is not going to South Carolina. They're living down there.
The boys are prevalent in that area. They are huge. The big ones are massive. I'm talking big as hell.
Even the small ones. You're like, yeah, I'm not picking that thing up. I've held a gator before in Louisiana a couple of times on those tours. But yeah, I'm not walking out of anywhere with it up my freaking shirt.
That is terrifying to even think about. And like I said, I'm pretty sure he probably got bit his nips are no longer there. I just, I don't know. And I think it's interesting because the article also talks about that like owning exotic animals is recent as recent as 2013 owning exotic animals in West Virginia can that compose a danger to people.
So like, I think monkeys alligators like any really any exotic animal. They have to have a permit before buying them, which I find interesting. But I also think some of these animals are meant to live in the wild or in sanctuaries, like rehabilitation places, not enough fucking tank in your house. What do you do with an 18 foot alligator in West Virginia?
We don't have the climate for that. My thing is too, it's like, it's cool to see these animals when they are in the wild. Like, we all like animals to be thriving in their environment. Right?
What about having one of these things in your house sounds appealing to anyone? Like, why do you want a fucking alligator? And this he live in a Louisiana swamp. Like, where are you doing with an owl?
Even then the fucking thing is outside. Like, it's chilling in his home, which just happens to be right here next to the month. Not he's in my office. Like, I actually, I have a listing right now that one of the tenants are super cool.
She's a dog, she has a snake. The snake has a really big, cool terrarium. It's pretty decent size snake. I mean, it's not a small snake.
But snakes like live pretty, once they're, you know, domesticated and live in a fucking tank for a little while, they're pretty low maintenance. Like, she takes it out every once in a while to clean the cage or hang out with it. But it literally just like lives under a couple of rocks in this terrarium, which I'm like, hey, cool, interesting pet. But by all means, you can do that.
What the fuck are you going to do with an alligator? Like, I'm not sure how active they get, but I don't think you take them for walks. Do you take them for swims? You let them out in the bathtub so we can get a little yard time?
What? What are you doing? I don't know if you're an alligator. Like, that's no fucking life.
Same. Same. It's also pretty bold. You're a regular customer of this exotic pet shop and you're going to steal from that?
That's crazy. Like, what's going on? I really don't understand it. I do not understand.
Matt, what animal would you steal if you could adequately take care of it? I don't know, man. Like, a bird? Like something that would still be like pretty low maintenance.
Like, I'm not stealing a fucking alligator. Birds are high maintenance. What? Birds are high maintenance.
I guess they are. I don't know. Do they have a turtle? Literally.
Like something where I'm like, I'd also like it wouldn't be stealing it from a pet store. It would be stealing it from a, we would be absconding from a bad environment where this thing shouldn't be here. I'm stealing it from you. That I would steal the alligator out of a bad home.
I mean totally. But to take it to a place like a pet shop. Yeah, I would do that too. But I would take it to a place like a pet shop where he stole it.
Like, not to give it a lesser home. Like, I mean, a pet shop makes me sad just baseline. So, it's like, I can't even do it anymore. Like, it's depressing to be at a pet shop or a zoo.
Cause I'm like, this is terrible. I wouldn't wish this is like honestly. Like, I'm gonna use the comparison. It's like an orphanage almost.
Literally, you go in there and there are, to a point, desperate animals who are trying to kill. Yeah, in a virtual prison where it's like, I'm gonna put you on display and hope somebody comes to see you. In a zoo, they don't even get that. They come to see you.
And then at the end of the night, you go back near your cage. No, I went to the zoo, which again, I don't really like going to the zoo, but I went because my friend wanted to go with her son, was Tiffany and I and Skye. And we saw in a ring-a-team acting kind of silly. He got on his head.
I shit, you know, I'm mad I have a video, but you're actually not me to show you what happened. And then we'll talk about it. Cause at first we're like, whoa, that's the craziest thing we've ever seen. That's so silly and gross and weird, which has happened.
But then we looked it up. And it's really, like, it's really sad behavior. It's behavior that you only get from like, depressed orangutans. And like, we didn't know that at the time, obviously.
But like, let me show you this video. Cause you're gonna be like, what the fuck? You're probably not gonna be able to tell what's happening. I don't even want to see it.
If it's gonna make me feel bad. I'm like, I hate that. And I like try. It's on its head peeing into its mouth.
Oh my God. What the fuck? Literally peeing into its mouth. And we've been trying to commit suicide on those leads.
It was really cool. This is crazy. It's the craziest thing we've ever seen at the zoo. And it's like, it's like a very sad, isolated, like that's what they do when they're depressed.
And I was like, that is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever seen in my life. That is terrible. Well, I had this experience. And when I was in Prague, my buddy and I, like our last day there, our flight wasn't until late afternoon.
And I was like, oh, the Prague Zoo is incredible. Here we're like, all right, we've been to the Charles Bridge. We've been down to the astronomical clock. We've partied it all that.
We're like, we just need to do something low maintenance, right? Zoo sounds good. Mine as well. Here I'm thinking about it now.
I didn't even think about it from the perspective of like, oh, I don't really like zoos. I was kind of just like, whatever. Maybe it's Prague. Maybe they're something unique there.
I've never been doing it was so hard. How many of those animals? Name like the polar bear came to mind. They're just so lethargic.
They just sit there. Like very, almost like they're sedated. Like just very non-combative, non-combative, not animal behavior. Like they are just like subdued.
And I'm like, even prisoners have like some modicum of like, I'm around other prisoners. I'm around people who are here with me. And it sucks. Depending on who is here.
But I'm thinking about it from like, no, granted, I do want to say, like zoo keepers take good care of those animals. They really do. And like not all of them obviously, like I'm not generalizing to say good or bad. For the most part, if you work in that industry, you do have some love of animals and you do at least acknowledge like, I want to take care of them.
I want them to enjoy what life they have. They're the passion for animals to work in that environment. Totally. Yeah.
You got to be able to put up the smell. You know, you aren't just there because they're paying you millions. Like I'm sure they're cool. Yeah, amen.
But like it's funny you said that, because when I went to the zoo this past time and every other time I've been there since I've been like a cognitive adult human being, we're even a teenager because I've always, you know me. I'm a big animal person, but I always try to tell myself, maybe this is just me trying to make myself feel better. That these animals get all their meals. They don't have to fight in the wild.
They don't fight for their survival. All the enclosure should be ginormous and it shouldn't be in little cages and goc dad and like whatever. But like I try to think of they have a warm place to sleep. They're always fed.
They are cared for. Like we said, they are cared for. It's not like people are not taking care of them. But I don't know.
It is depressing to me in a way though. I do just get so like, we're trying to have to see. I love seeing them. Yeah.
And the fact is you're not going to go to one place and see an alligator and a giraffe and a peregrine falcon and a lion all in the same goddamn place. And you know, like there are some like one thing about that alligator adventure that we were saying was really cool. It's like the reptile room. Now again, unfortunately they're all in when I would consider very small enclosures.
But it's like, dude, we're seeing things from Thailand and from Brazil in the same room here. Like that's pretty wild. But again, it's like, I know one thing that I have always said is like a lot of money that goes towards zoos goes towards conservation efforts as well. So that's one thing that I do have to say is like if you're going to go to a zoo, make sure it's one where they are taking care of the animals.
And a good amount of them have like rehabilitation programs as well. Yeah, they bring in wounded. Yeah. Yeah.
So that's a big part of it as well. But I mean, honestly, like pet stores, like we're, you know, we're talking about have a different connotation for me. I think that it's like people need a place to be able to go and see those animals, those domesticated animals too. I do think there's a line like there has to be like some, you know, like some of those puppies like we always used to go to pet land in men roveau like couple times we go up there and play with the puppies.
I always thought that was really cool. I had no intention of taking a dog home. And it's just dad. And it always made me so sad.
I know, dude, you walk in and you're just like, there's a row of literal cages. They are so small. But again, try and look on the bright side. A lot of people adopt animals.
A lot of people get animals from those places and give them very happy lives. So we do have to say thank you and good kudos to those people. Don't steal anything. Number one, that's my first thoughts of this WTH three number dose.
Let's how about not try and steal an alligator. Because that's number two. Yeah, for sure. Big number two there.
Pun intended because that's a whole mess of shit. Why are you stealing an alligator of all things that could be possibly stolen an alligator? Really? Really?
An alligator? I just want to throw that out there. Like even if you have one already, what do you need two for? Are you breeding them?
Like what's happening? I don't know. But what do you do with all the other ones? What is your end game here, my friend?
Are you open an alligator adventure? Also, like how lucrative is the exotic animal business? Like how many people do you know that alligator? So like how many people are going to be buying alligators if you're breeding alligators?
You know what I mean? I don't even know. Yeah, I guarantee you that there's not that many people that are alligator shopping on Saturdays. I can tell you that from just knowledge of life.
Like I've never wanted somebody. And again, we live in Pittsburgh. I've never once had somebody that would be like, do you want to go to the reptile exhibit and talk about buying an alligator? Talk about buying a snake or the fucking anything that'll be there?
I'm like, what inspires anyone to do that? I don't know. Well, snakes are a little different, I suppose. Snakes are?
And I always think, I've said for years, snakes are fascinating. Like I don't really like spiders. Spiders freak me out. I like snakes.
I think they're pretty interesting animals. I agree. I like snakes. I just want to be able to feed them.
Yeah, no, I couldn't get like a lot of mouths to a snake. I was traumatized in middle school and I will never recover from it. Miss Bear, Mrs. Bear.
Yep. Yep. Yep. I sat right next to where she put that live mouse.
Hey, am I sat in the back of the fucking room and there were two corn snakes? Back left. Yes. And literally, yeah.
So the one traumatized, dude. I remember this. I remember looking at that mouse and the whole day, all I could think about was how to get that mouse out of being put in that cage. Yeah.
It's like literally just huddling in a corner waiting for the snake to get bored of fucking with it. And literally like the snake would just sit there, watch this mouse for a little while. If it was really hungry, it would pounce on it for like, you know, maybe five minutes, but it's still, it's part of their nature. They like, they like mess with the mouse.
Dude, that was wild to me. I couldn't believe that. But then at the same time, I'm like, you know what? This is natural in a way.
I'm not good at the circle of life. I know. I know. It's really creepy when you have to see all that.
You see the circle of life happen every fucking day at its beginning. Right. The end of it is the part that's like, fuck me up. Yeah.
I probably, I think I'd be better seeing the end than the beginning. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Watching animals die.
It's me. I don't know. Me too. It's so hard.
Even though it is something where you're like, hey, part of the circle of life, it's natural, whatever, it's still. Well, it's not natural when you're the one dropping. They're not hunting for the mouse in your garden. They are, you are, you chose that mouse out of a pet store.
And now it's going home to be dinner. You're playing God. And I don't like it. I know, but you know what it is.
I say the same thing about like what we eat. Okay. Don't even get me started. I am in the green.
But those chickens and pigs and cows and mice are bred to be eaten. That's the point is like they are literally. They're just like, I need to be a vegetarian. I say all the time, I literally say to Caitlyn.
I'm like, I wish I could be a vegetarian. I wish I could do it. It would lessen our carbon footprints. It would make us feel better.
I wouldn't be such a like, you know, oh, God, I'm a bacon. Like God, do I fucking want some bacon right now? I will say Matt, I always say this to you. And like, I think this is also part of my thinking.
Like if you invited me to a farm and introduced me to a cow and then killed that cow in front of me and then served it, I wouldn't be able to eat it even though it's not fun. Yeah. I think if we do that enough times, we'll both become vegetarians. We just put ourselves to that point.
We were like, Oh, where's Missy? Like Missy's on the plate. You're like, fuck. I would end up running away with Missy.
That's how I would steal that. Do the silence on the lambs thing. Try to run away with the one lamp. It's like, you will call me when the lambs stop screaming.
Like what the fuck? Oh, with that. That with our WH3. This ended up being a long one.
It's like, praisefully a full episode. But go ahead and enjoy your cars. This is a long WH3. Because as usual, we don't know what the hell happened here.
We don't know what the hell's happening anywhere. Just be safe, man. Do the best you can. Don't steal alligators.
Don't steal alligators. Come on. And don't steal credit cards either for that fact. Just don't steal.
Yeah, see, like, come on, Blake it's safe. Don't steal shit. If you can't afford it, fuck you know, I'm kidding. This is America.
Go get it the heart. Go get it the old fashioned way. Mary Rich. Hey.
Good night everybody. I'm here till Thursday. Try the veal. Oh, God.
No, don't even get me started on veal, Matt. Oh, yep. Don't try the mushrooms. They're delicious.
They're great when they're grilled. And so you put a whole bunch of shit on top. Oh, man. Good night everybody.
