A unsmoked lit cigarette
from Daily Picture · host Stephanie Hawkins
In my imagination, I saw a lit cigarette standing on its end. We could perceive this as wasteful in letting it just fizzle out to the end, with no one actually smoking it. It makes me think that I am sure we all make decisions to not be wasteful or not appear wasteful, amongst many other decisions we make, which are actually detrimental to us and not even necessarily following God's will. Our decisions could be influenced by any number of factors such as not wanting to hurt another person's feelings, thinking we are being helpful to another etc. We need to take stock and be careful that we are not out of alignment with God's will in a situation which involves choice. Using the analogy of the cigarette, would we be better off smoking it to avoid it being wasted? Let us check our logic and our reasoning. Let us check in with God.
