A Walk With Legends: The Number 9️⃣
from With Aplomb Hosted by eterno
Until 1928 football players didn’t have #s on the back of their jerseys. When initially introduced, #s signaled where and what role the player plays on their team. Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday (then known as Wednesday Football Club) were the first two teams to field players wearing 1-11, with the lower numbers belonging to defensive-minded players and higher ones to offensive ones. In this show we're highlighting the Number 9: your poacher, your striker, your goalscorer. Join us to reminisce about and perhaps learn a thing or two about your favorite legends and current #9s. Players like El Fenomeno, Mia Hamm, Di Stefano, Samuel Eto'o, Sun Wen, Marco Van Basten, Miedema, Robert Lewandowski and more! Plus we've introduced a fun new Trivia segment so you can impress your friends and family with your superb football knowledge now. P.S. A wonderful tribute to the one and only R9.
