A waterfall

We have a choice in our day to day lives as to what we receive. For instance, we can receive a barrage of accusations and condemnation which makes us feel bad and guilty, for things we have indeed done wrong or are perceived by others as wrong. Alternatively, we can receive lovingly-given conviction from the Holy Spirit which can help us choose to stop doing wrong things. In the 8th chapter of the Gospel of John, Jesus tells a woman who has been caught in adultery and whom he saved from her accusers and tormenters, that he does not condemn her and to go off and sin no more. Similarly, let us not accept a torrent of accusations from others, however deserved they may well be, but instead receive an overflowing of God's love for us and His encouragement to us to repent and change.
