A Woman in a Flying Basket | Zechariah 5:5–11 | Message 9 | 09/15/2024

Continuing our series in the book of Zechariah, Pastor Andrew preaches from Zechariah 5: 5-11. In this passage, we learn about the seventh dream in a series of eight dreams that Zechariah had in one night. In this dream, Zechariah sees a woman in a flying basket. The point of the dream is to confront Israel's past sin and rebellion. God confronts Israel's past sin and rebellion by reminding them of his great salvation, by reminding them of the Levitical requirement for sacrifice, by pointing them to the future hope of the Messiah's coming, and by admonishing them to repent and obey. A great threat for Christians today is the same as it was in Zechariah’s day: the seductiveness of the wickedness and idols of the Babylon of our age.
