A Woman in Distress

Distress is defined as trouble, danger, difficulty, misfortune, hardship, trial, upset, disturbance, affliction, torment, stress, and worry. 2 Kings 4:1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. The woman in this Old Testament account lost her husband and her two sons were in danger of being taken away to the creditors to fulfill a debt. Are you experiencing distress in your life feeling like you are between a rock and a hard place? We have all been there and we all look for relief in those moments. God desires that we cry out to Him even when we have lost all understanding of the trial and tribulation we are experiencing. He hears the cry of the human heart and promises to send help to comfort and heal our broken spirit. Psalm 4:1 When I call, give me answers. God, take my side! Once, in a tight place, you gave me room; Now I’m in trouble again: grace me! hear me!
