A year of blessing
from The Chaplain's Table · host Simcha Lefton
A Year of Blessings Thank You, Hashem (G-D), for this precious year, Eleven months filled with joy and cheer. Sanctuary's doors opened wide for me, A season of growth, of sweet melody. From Warren Bar Lieberman's gentle night, Where pain was eased and hearts felt light, To emails sent with hope and grace, Advocating goodness in every place. A Muslim family, a Sunday call, Language lines bridging barriers tall. Comforting souls when the hour was late, Patience and love—what a gift, what fate. The piano keys sang healing tunes, Comforting hearts in quiet rooms. Jewish melodies, prayers that soared, Music and spirit in sweet accord. Community ties began to grow, Reflections deep, like rivers flow. Poetry bloomed—a pastoral art, Words of solace from a tender heart. Grief and memorials, tears that fell, Stories of love we long to tell. Pamphlets of prayer, podcasts of care, Moments of kindness beyond compare. From Arctic fans to heartfelt lines, From gratitude poems to sacred signs. Even when change began to show, Your blessings stayed, and helped me grow. Though I never spoke a last goodbye, Thanksgiving's note brought tears to eyes. I leave with peace, with thanks so true, For all the wonders You let me do. Sanctuary changed, and so must I, But faith remains, and dreams will fly.
