She had a great choreographer and stylist. Dereck Lee was her stylist and Fatima Robinson was her choreographer. The video takes you to another place. It takes you to an island. If you love the beach, it’s probably where you want to be. The video takes you there. But I can see things beyond the work of the video if only Aaliyah had lived. In my opinion, Aaliyah would have made Disney a great and awesome mermaid character. Aa had already been doing some things for Disney. She sang Journey To the Past for the cartoon Anastasia and music video. She was one of the musical voices for the soundtrack. Aaliyah has done a wonderful job hosting Anastasia the Magical Journey. If Aaliyah would have lived, she would have been the perfect actress for a movie role for Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”. Disney has made that movie in theaters now starring Halle Bailey as Ariel. But you know there are other mermaid stories out there. There’s one written by Author Sonica Ellis titled “The River Mumma”. Legends says that The River Mumma, a beautiful and enchanting mermaid inhabits the Rivers of Jamaica. You can see the book on Amazon. Well Aaliyah is gone. But in my vision, she was still like a beautiful mermaid in her music video, “Rock the Boat”. That’s my news and story of the Princes R&B for today.Music commentary news.
