Aaron Judge’s Yankees Return Was a Letdown

Aaron Judge returned to the Yankees lineup, but the storybook moment never came. Evan Roberts admits he was disappointed by Judge’s hitless night after comparing it to the unforgettable comeback homers from Alex Rodriguez and David Wright, while Tiki Barber pushes back on the idea that Judge’s first game back mattered much at all. The Yankees also face a tricky reality as Judge works his way back and may not finish every game, creating late-inning lineup decisions like the one that put Heliot Ramos in a huge spot. Plus, the Subway Series pitching matchups take shape, and a caller sparks a bigger debate over whether the Mets could ever truly become New York’s baseball big brother.
