Aaron Scott Jr Commits To The Ohio State Buckeyes | Ohio State Football 2023

For your information, as a Michigan fan, Aaron Scott Jr's commitment video absolutely stung. However, all that does is add fuel to the fire approaching on November 25th. Scott is a 6'0", 170-pound cornerback from Ohio, and he chose Ohio State Football over Michigan Football and Oregon Football. Michigan and Ohio State were the true Top 2 finalists, and Scott went with the Buckeyes. The Game is the greatest rivalry in all of sports and I love it when Michigan and Ohio State wage war not just on the field, but on the recruiting trail as well. In the end, Ohio State Football head coach Ryan Day and cornerbacks coach Tim Walton out-recruited Jim Harbaugh and Steve Clinkscale. Perhaps another Michigan victory in The Game could force Scott to reconsider his commitment, but the Buckeyes won this battle, locking down the Top 3 players in Ohio. Now, the Buckeyes can focus on earning the No.1 recruiting class in the country. Ohio State has seven 5-star prospects they have a realistic chance of landing, and two of them, defensive end Eddrick Houston and defensive lineman Dylan Stewart, are crystal balled to Ohio State. For the Michigan Wolverines, their class is nearly complete with 26 commits, but they still have some blue-chip prospects to fight for, such as 5-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo. Michigan also heavily used the transfer portal in the 2023 cycle, which I think will pay them large dividends this year and in 2024. Both the Wolverines and the Buckeyes likely use the portal in the 2024 season, as each will lose several starters on both sides of the football. I expect Ohio State to finish with a Top 2 recruiting class this season, with the Georgia Bulldogs being the only team competing with the Buckeyes for the No.1 spot.
