AARP Mississippi urges local groups to apply now for this year’s Community Challenge grants

from North American Network

A-A-R-P’s “Community Challenge”-program is now accepting applications for this year’s grants. And, A-A-R-P Mississippi’s state-director, Kimberly L- Campbell, encourages all eligible groups—throughout the state—to apply… “We’re thrilled to bring this opportunity back to Mississippi—because we’ve already seen tangible results from previous grantees. The annual ‘Community Challenge’ is part of our nationwide ‘Livable Communities’-initiative—which supports efforts by local areas to become great places for people of all ages, especially those who are 50-plus. It’s open to eligible nonprofits and government-organizations. And, the grants fund quick-action, innovative projects—for public places, transportation, housing, civic engagement, diversity-and-inclusion, and more. In fact, past grants in Mississippi include park- and alleyway-revitalizations, renewal of underutilized public-spaces, and improvement of unsafe intersections.” This year’s application-deadline is March 22nd.
