Abby Thaker, Rachel Honore, and Safiyyah Islam - Neighborhood Literacy Fund - Evening WURDs 4.6.26

Abby Thaker is the Senior Advisor at Read by 4th and the Neighborhood Literacy Fund staff lead. Rachel Honore is the Founder and Executive Director at Literacy and More, and Neighborhood Literacy Fund Planning Committee Member. Safiyyah Islam is the Program Coordinator at The Philadelphia Prevention Partnership, and a Neighborhood Literacy Fund Awardee. They all joined Dr. Peterson for this month’s Philly Reads segment to discuss the Neighborhood Literacy Fund, and share their book recommendations for children. The Neighborhood Literacy Fund supports community-driven solutions to the early literacy crisis by awarding up to $2,000 for projects that help grow Philadelphia’s young readers.
