In Russland haben Staatsmedien über ein Gespräch hochrangiger Bundeswehroffiziere berichtet.  Bei dem Treffen sprach Luftwaffen-Chef General Ingo Gerhartz mit drei weiteren Offizieren über sensible Informationen, unter anderem den Einsatz von Taurus-Raketen zur Zerstörung der Krim-Brücke. Das Bundesverteidigungsministerium hat bestätigt, dass die Aufnahme echt ist und prüft nun, wie die Kommunikation abgehört werden konnte.  Hauke Friederichs ist Sicherheitspolitischer Korrespondent der ZEIT und berichtet im Podcast, was die Bundeswehroffiziere besprochen haben und wie russische Staatsmedien das Gespräch abhören konnten. Beim Parteitag der Sozialdemokratischen Partei Europas (PES) in Rom wurde der Luxemburger Nicolas Schmit zum Spitzenkandidaten für den EU-Wahlkampf nominiert. Schmit ist seit 2019 EU-Kommissar für Arbeit und Soziales. Zwar hat der 70-Jährige bei der Wahl zum Spitzenkandidaten keine parteiinternen Herausforderer, gegen eine zweite Amtszeit der EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen sollte er jedoch trotzdem keine Chance haben.
