June 08, 2025 Daily Devotion: "Abiding in Christ: Joy's Promise"John 15:11 New Living Translation 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! What if someone discovered the secret to living joyfully? Would you want them to share it with you? That's a silly question. It's safe to say we would all want in on such a secret! Bring on the joy, right? One of the beautiful things about Jesus is that He doesn't keep secrets from us. There is a way to live joyfully, and He is more than willing to share it with us. “If you keep My commands,” Jesus says, “you willremain in My love” (John 15:10 HCSB). He goes on to explain that He is telling the people this so that they may be filled with His joy. The secret to joy is obedience. We can obey the Lord's commands regardless of our financial situation, social standing, or marital status. We can live joyfully even in the midst of disappointments, bad news, and rainy days. Let's live obedient, joy-filled lives.
