Abolition Today – Black Monopoly

This week we discuss the system of modern enslavement as it affects US descendants of slaves. The false narratives, the systemic traps, the criminalization processes, and the racial disparities which are uniquely over-represented in black communities. We'll be joined by the Director of Decarcerate Louisiana, Curtis Davis. DeLa just had their slavery abolition bill #HB298 pass through its first committee hearing on May 16th. A complete reversal from last year's loss in a 9-6 vote. In Louisiana, Black people constituted 33% of state residents, but 52% of people in jail and 67% of people in prison.
