About a Boy

“About a Boy” is a disco-pop anthem with a heart, fusing 1988-inspired Swedish synth stabs, slap bass, and funky cowbell with warm modern pads and stacked harmonies. The production pulses with retro energy while staying futuristic and cinematic. But at its core, this song tells a story about ADHD, self-esteem, and belonging. It’s about a boy who’s not a problem or a label — just someone trying to laugh through the pain, carry sunshine in the rain, and find a space where he’s understood. The chorus lifts with angelic layers, turning a deeply personal theme into a universal reminder: we’re not broken — we’re alive, we’re sparks trying to ignite the dark. 💡 For fans of: Dua Lipa, Years & Years, Chromeo, emotional disco-pop & nu-disco playlists.
