(Isa. 51:2) The first mention of Abraham’s wife, Sarah, states that “she had no child” (Gen. 11:30) which was considered a reproach upon a woman in those days. Not willing to allow her husband to fail in having a posterity, she was willing to relinquish their servant girl, Hagar, to become his wife and have the children.
