Veteran Chicago DJ/Producer FRANKIE VEGA begins the program with a mix of straight for the dancefloor midwest techno, previewing his set at the debut I ACID CHICAGO event 4/29. VEGA emerged from the 90s rave scene, throwing raves as part of Mushgroove crew, working behind the counter at the legendary southside Chicago record store Hot Jams + helping run the Strictly Hype + Blue Line record labels. In the 2000s, he moved to promoting club events as In Your System + holding down residencies at Smartbar + Primary. As a producer, VEGA has released music on numerous labels, including DJ PIERRE’s Afro Acid, WODDY MCBRIDE’s Communique records + MAZI’s Fresh Meat, to name a few.
