Absentee Black Fathers: Myth or Reality?

In 1965 the MOYNIHAN REPORT stated that 25% of BLACK children born OUT-OF-WEDLOCK was a crisis for AFRICAN-AMERICAN families, but today that number stands at 73% of African-American children are born out-of-wedlock mostly to SINGLE MOTHERS. WHERE ARE THE FATHERS?  The absence of the Black father has long been seen as problematic in the Black community, but the CDC reported last year that BLACK FATHERS are quite often more involved with their children than other cultures in similar living circumstances.  What difference does an involved father truly make in their child's life and is it significant enough to advocate for more marriages in the Black community?  MD asking the questions America's afraid to ask.
