Absorb the Cost - Sermon

Pastor James discusses forgiveness by exploring the parable of the prodigal son and the parable of the unmerciful servant, emphasizing that true forgiveness involves absorbing the cost of another's sins. He illustrates how the father in the prodigal son's story voluntarily takes on the shame and financial loss of his son to restore their relationship, demonstrating the deep love and acceptance that characterizes God's forgiveness towards us. Similarly, the unmerciful servant's failure to forgive a much smaller debt after being forgiven a monumental one highlights the expectation that we should extend grace to others as we have received it. Ultimately, he urges us to recognize the profound cost of forgiveness and to embody the same spirit of grace God has shown us, transforming our hearts and relationships in the process. Sermon 4-6-25
