Abundant living

Today I find myself reflecting again on Jesus's words that he has "come so that they may have life and have it to the full" (John 10:10). This was in the context of him being the Shepherd and we are His sheep. God has so much for us but do we receive it? Think of the power source of an old music device, such as a tape recorder, which it needs to be attached to. However, even then, the green power switch needs to be on and then the Play button needs to be pressed. With that analogy can you see that even if we are attached to God's power source, sometimes we simply don't do the actions which are required of us in order to receive? Opportunities come our way and we can have a number of excuses and reasons for not responding positively to them. They are part of Jesus's abundant living for us. Let us be grateful and embrace what He has for us. Press the Play button!
