Abundantly More
from Crosstowne Church - Sermons
Over the course of this series we’ve been learning a lot about air-flight, specifically the turbulence that we experience as a part of it. Today we shift our focus to frontal-wave turbulence. This type of turbulence is the result of the lifting of warm air by cold air, which is heavier and denser. As air rises it expands and cools losing its ability to hold moisture, as a result, a band of clouds and precipitation form along a cold front, producing abrupt wind shifts and significant turbulence. This is exactly the type of turbulence Jesus caused during his earthly ministry. He came in like a cold front and flipped the tables on the culture he was a part of and the expectations they had for who the Messiah should be. But this isn’t just an example of a story that happened back then, it’s something we experience today as well. It may not have been us who yelled “crucify him!'“ but how often do we find ourselves crucifying Him in our hearts when our expectations of Him aren’t met? Join us today as we take an honest look at our expectations and in how in releasing them to Him and opening our eyes to His kingdom we can see Him do abundantly more than we ever thought possible.
