“Abused by my girlfriend…” Spotting the signs of toxic abuse in your relationship and what you need to do about it!
from The Relationship Breakthrough Show with Matt & Rebeca
When we talk about domestic abuse, the first image that comes to mind for many of us is of a physically abusive male partner, intimidating or attacking his female partner. But is there more to it than that? Today I’m delighted to be joined by Lee Marks, who is a researcher, and author of the book Break the Silence - A support guide for male victims of domestic abuse. He is the founder of Break the Silence where they support people of every age, race, class and gender in dealing with the devastating effects of domestic abuse, seeing that the victims are from all segments of society. Their mission is to support everyone affected to “break the silence” and live a violence free existence. We are going to be hearing: - Lee's personal story of recovery from an abusive relationship - what do we mean by domestic abuse? - who is more likely to be a victim and who is more likely to report it - how does the law deal with different types of abuse Find out more about Lee's work at: https://breakthesilenceuk.co.uk/
