Abusers Live in a Perpetual State of Fear That's Born From Their Fundamental Weakness

from Walter Rhein Podcast · host Walter Rhein

One of the first things that we need to overcome in our fight against fascism is our belief that we’re powerless. We are not powerless. If you don’t believe it yet, then find some support groups who will repeat those words to you until you do believe. We’re not powerless. We are powerful. In fact, we’re so powerful that abusive people live in a perpetual state of terror. We’ve all heard the phrase “every accusation is a confession.” People say that constantly. But even though we hear it, we don’t pause to recognize what it truly means or what it truly implies. We know that abusers always accuse us of committing the crimes that they are responsible for, but you also have to pause and ask why they feel the need to do that. The answer is that they’re afraid. On some level, all the powerful men out there who visited Epstein island to rape children, know that what they did was wrong. That’s why they have tried to cover it up. That’s why they keep doing everything they can to obstruct transparency and limit the march of justice. They’re going to fail, and deep down they know it.Abusive people live in a perpetual state of fear. There’s the old saying, “Well, at least I can sleep at night.” Abusive people have no idea what you’re talking about. They live in mansions paid for by stolen money. They have the top security systems money can buy. They sleep with a gun under their pillow. They know that the world is filled with individuals who have been the target of their abuses. They know these people are angry and motivated. So, abusive people do everything they can to stay ahead of the tidal wave of retribution they know is coming. They live lives of constant panic and noise and accusations. They scream and they yell and they lie and they gather up all the power they can as if it will save them.It won’t.Part of the punishment of evil deeds is that you lose the comfort of a good night’s sleep. Those of us who are decent human beings have a hard time recognizing the mind of an evildoer. We are born innocent, and we come into this world unprepared for the level of malice we will encounter.Evil people, on the other hand, look at our vulnerability and they lick their lips. Sometimes, they manage to convert their victims into fellow abusers, but most often they create warriors for justice. So, they are scared. They scream and yell and they create entire social structures for their own protection. Evil endures when decent people are expected to maintain a code of silence. We’re not supposed to talk about certain things. We see evidence of that whenever there’s a school shooting and the radicalized right comes forward to declare, “Now’s not the time to talk about gun control.”Evil people constantly police our statements and our tone.“Don’t talk about religion or politics at the dinner table.”We’re shunned if we say that one of our family members is a pedophile. Instead, we’re pressured to pretend the abuses we endured never happened. In doing that, we become enablers of future abuse. All of this is in service to the perpetual terror of abusers in positions of authority. When we ask them reasonable questions, they explode with screams and cries of “disrespect.” The one thing they fail to do is directly answer any question that is put to them. They despise the legal process of discovery. They despise the existence of experts who know how to recalibrate their thoughts based on evidence.Evil people cannot live in our reality because doing so would mean they had to admit their crimes. So they construct a narrative of superiority and place themselves at the top. But the consequence of this response to the torment of their conscience, is that they lose the ability to sleep. There is no more terrible or disgusting symbol of weakness than to abuse a child. Those of us living in the modern era can no longer afford to submit to the pressure to remain silent. As I type this, the government’s secret police is going door to door to abuse children on the orders of a deranged abuser who has no other ambition than to escape accountability for his crimes against humanity. We cannot be enablers of this.Get used to speaking out. Greet people with the phrase, “May you be a force of justice for good!”Say it. Say the words! Make it as commonplace as “Happy Holidays.”“Justice for good!”It’s time that goodness had a win, and it has other meanings too that will cause evil people to wither and crumble like ash in a divine wind. You all make this newsletter happen!
