SAfm — Protest action by students at Nelson Mandela University (NMU) in the Eastern Cape, continues today. Students are protesting over registration and accommodation problems at the institution. Students have barricaded various entrances to North and South campuses of the institution. Classes for the day have been postponed until further notice.Meanwhile Academic activities also remain suspended at the Tshwane University of Technology. The university resolved yesterday to close all academic programmes for students with immediate effect, until further notice. Student are protesting over unpaid meal allowances and insufficient residences. TUT has instructed students at all nine campuses to clear their residences as soon as possible, for their own safety.
