Send us Fan MailAcceptance And Community “Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters… for God has accepted them. “ - from Romans 14The early Christians in Rome were already deeply divided on matters of faith and practice- matters that impacted their everyday lives. Their differences were not easily reconciled. In Paul’s view, loving one another in the context of a diverse and pluralistic community required them to learn how to accept one another. Acceptance doesn’t necessarily mean affirmation or agreement but it’s more than tolerance. Acceptance means:We encourage each other to reflect, pray and discern. Then we honor and respect the conclusions of each other’s discernment. Not merely tolerate, not necessarily affirm, but we accept and honor. We stop judging each other- recognizing that God has already accepted us all. We  focus our every effort on doing what leads to peace, wellbeing, and mutual edification. Dear God, give us the love and grace to accept and honor one another- particularly in our differences of belief, conviction, and practice. Help us build communities that lift each other up. In your name we pray. Amen. I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you. (Thanks for your prayers. I’ve been diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, a condition that usually corrects in time. Thanks for your concern and well wishes.
