Proverbs chapter 12, starting at the first verse: 'Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.' How do we respond when someone corrects us? Solomon gives us one test: do we love instruction? The one who loves being taught loves knowledge, but the one who hates reproof is acting foolishly. Notice the word 'loveth' — we cannot grow in wisdom until we first welcome correction. True wisdom begins with humility. Are you willing to receive correction today? When we love instruction and accept reproof with a teachable heart, we can accept correction with a teachable heart.
