Access to the Promised Future – Part 3: God Uses the Unlikely📖 Joshua 2:1–7 (NLT)“Then Joshua secretly sent out two spies from the Israelite camp at Acacia Grove. He instructed them, ‘Scout out the land on the other side of the Jordan River, especially around Jericho.’ So the two men set out and came to the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there that night…” (Full scripture continues)IntroductionTo access the promised future, we must understand that:• God often uses people whom society has rejected.• The person God assigns to help you may be the last one you expect.• The divine path is rarely popular, and often unconventional.1. Reduce the Crowds📖 “Then Joshua secretly sent out two spies…” – Joshua 2:1 (NLT)• The first spying mission involved 12 men (Numbers 13). This time, Joshua sends only 2.• Some assignments are better accomplished by the faithful few, not the majority.• Moses aimed for fairness by representing all tribes. Joshua aimed for effectiveness.• Democracy may give everyone a voice, but destiny requires discernment.• Success doesn’t always follow the crowd. If you do what everyone does, you’ll get what everyone gets.Matric success, healthy marriages, thriving businesses, growing churches – they require distinctive decisions.2. You Might Hear It From the Enemy📖 “Before the spies went to sleep… ‘I know the Lord has given you this land… We are all afraid… For the Lord your God is the supreme God…’” – Joshua 2:8–11 (NLT)• Sometimes, your greatest confirmation comes from unlikely voices.• If you could hear what the enemy says about you, you’d stop doubting yourself.• Israel was afraid of those who were actually afraid of them!• The battle will now be won by whoever believes more.• Do you believe in what God has said about you? Your enemies already do.• Often, the best testimony of God’s greatness comes from your opponents. They see your power more clearly than you do.3. Report Back With Boldness📖 “The Lord has given us the whole land… all the people in the land are terrified of us.” – Joshua 2:24 (NLT)• The spies returned with certainty, not fear.• Faithful spies don’t bring back fear; they bring back evidence of victory.4. House of the Harlot Becomes House of Hope📖“Only Rahab the prostitute and the others in her house will be spared…” – Joshua 6:17 (NLT)“Go to the prostitute’s house and bring her out… They moved her whole family to a safe place…” – Joshua 6:22–23 (NLT)• God can turn a brothel into a beacon of hope.• Rahab wasn’t just saved—her whole family was rescued because of her faith.• All odds were against her, but God honored her belief.• When we receive God, He receives us.Salvation isn’t about your past – it’s about your faith.5. Destiny Altered by Grace📖 “Salmon was the father of Boaz (whose mother was Rahab)…” – Matthew 1:5 (NLT)• Rahab’s story didn’t end in Jericho.• She married Salmon and became the mother of Boaz, the great-grandfather of King David.• From being a prostitute to being part of the royal lineage of Israel.• God completely changed the narrative of her life.📖 “It was by faith that Rahab… was not destroyed with the people in her city…” – Hebrews 11:30–31 (NLT)• She made it into the Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11.• Her past didn’t disqualify her—her faith redefined her.• Through Jesus Christ, God transforms our brokenness into greatness. Conclusion: God Uses the Unlikely• Rahab reminds us that God is not limited by labels.• He’s not intimidated by our past or the opinions of others.• He sees beyond reputation and looks for faith.• No matter who you are or where you come from—God can use you for something greater.Let God rewrite your story
